About Me :)

My name is Anna, and I have Marfan syndrome. I am a 20 year old college student who hopes to one day go into the medical field to help others like me. I created this blog to spread awareness for the condition as well as to create relatable and educational content for other people affected by Marfan syndrome.

Marfan syndrome is a rare connective tissue disorder principally affecting the heart, eyes, lungs, skin, and bones. Connective tissue is essentially the "glue" that holds together organs and tissues throughout your body. A mutation in this connective tissue is what causes the problems related to Marfan syndrome.

I was diagnosed with the condition when I was three years old. Marfan syndrome is genetic, but I am the first person in my family to have it. 25% of cases are caused by a spontaneous mutation, like me.

I also post awareness and educational content about Marfan syndrome on Instagram. Follow me @marfanna if you are interested!
